How to use IRCTC online ticket booking for train?

If you don’t want to get up early and stand in queue to book train ticket, e-ticket is the best option for you. You can book your ticket online using internet.

Steps:

1.      goto to https://www.irctc.co.in/, register and login.

2.      Enter Plan my travel From and To, Date of journey and Ticket type and click on Find train button.

3.      List of trains appear right side. Select the train and seat type.

4.      Select the Train Route, Station from and Station To you are going.

5.      Enter the Passenger detains in this screen, Name, age, Sex, Berth preference and senior citizen option and click on go.

6.      You need to click on make payment in this screen.

7.      Select the payment mode (Credit Card, Net Banking, Debit Card, Cash Cards, EMI option). bank through which you want to pay.

8.      Enter the payment details and click on Buy.

9.      Booked ticket details displays in this screen, Coach and seat no.

10.  You can print the ticket using the print ERS (English) option.

Points to remember:

1.      You can book train tickets online from morning 8:30 am to 11:30 pm.

2.      You can cancel the ticket online and the amount will be refund to your account.

3.      You can book tickets as many as you want.

4.      You can see the booked tickets detail in Booked History.

5.      Tatkal ticket also you can book.

6.      If the ticket is in waiting you can see the PNR status in irctc site.

7.      You need to be very fast to book tickets when number to tickets are very less or you are booking tatkal tickets.
